What is different this year is the storefronts. Between roughly 11640 and 11920 San Vicente Boulevard, five restaurants have either opened, been announced, or are actively building out since the start of 2026. For a stretch that reinvents itself slowly by design, that is a season of unusual velocity.
The thesis is simple. Brentwood's dining center of gravity is quietly shifting from Barrington and 26th Street toward this half mile of San Vicente, and the shift is chef-driven rather than developer-driven. If you already live here, the practical consequence is that a weeknight radius that used to end at Farmshop or Toscana now includes a food hall from a Grammy winner, a second Savta, and, by early 2027, a Delilah-adjacent lounge across the street from Katsuya. Here is what actually opened, what is coming, and how to use the block this summer without driving to Santa Monica.
The block that changed in one season
The most consequential opening arrived on a Saturday morning in April. Neighborly Brentwood opened on Saturday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m., with the final sign-offs from the city of Los Angeles. The format is worth understanding before you go. Fresh signage appeared along San Vicente Boulevard signaling a Westside outpost that aims to cover quick family dinners, casual drinks, and efficient takeout under one roof, bringing together several partner menus alongside a compact marketplace so customers can mix and match restaurant dishes with grab-and-go items on a single stop.
The chef lineup is what sets Neighborly apart from any other food hall on the Westside. The partner menus include What Gaby's Cooking from Chef Gaby Dalkin, Mini Kabob from Chef Armen Martirosyan and family, Mixtape from Ahmir 'Questlove' Thompson, and the newest addition, Frank Pinello of Williamson, New York's Best Pizza, with his West Coast pizza place, Palermo Pizza Club. One order, four kitchens, a household where the ten-year-old wants pizza and the adults want Armenian kebab. That is a specific Brentwood problem and this is a specific Brentwood solution.
Two doors down, another announcement landed later in the month with a longer lead time. In Brentwood, h.wood Group is developing Montana's, a restaurant and lounge designed to evoke the atmosphere of an exclusive, intimate clubhouse, slated for an early 2027 opening at 11920 San Vicente Blvd., combining the brand's signature speakeasy aesthetic with a sophisticated neighborhood dining experience. The hospitality powerhouse behind Delilah and The Nice Guy is deepening its roots in the Los Angeles metropolitan area with the debut of two new culinary concepts in Brentwood and West Hollywood. Read that pairing carefully. h.wood does not open restaurants in neighborhoods it considers second tier.

A few of these deserve a note.
Matū is not a rumor. The people behind Beverly Hills' popular sophisticated steakhouse Matū are bringing their passion for exceptional beef to Brentwood, with an ABC application on the front of a former men's clothing store at 11777 San Vicente Blvd. Ste 134, just to the right of Katsuya. The applicant is Grass Fed Wagyu LLC, the parent company behind the stylish steakhouse. Construction is underway, so an opening may be a way off.
Savta's Brentwood dining room does something the original did not, which is offer a weekday deal that changes how you think about a Barrington lunch. Savta at the Original Farmers Market has expanded to a second, more spacious-looking spot in Brentwood, with the same handrolls as the original, including combinations like tuna with truffle and jalapeño, red snapper with yuzu kosho and cilantro, and one with uni, caviar, and toro. On weekdays, there is a lunch special that includes an appetizer and three handrolls for $32.
If you are tired of waiting in the perpetual line at Montana Avenue's branch of La La Land Kind Cafe, a second nearby location may bring some relief. La La Land is moving into the old Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at 11698 San Vicente Blvd in Brentwood, and the chain offers valuable support and opportunities for fostering youth and individuals in need, as well as an excellent French Toast Latte.
And the Town & Country center at 11640 is welcoming an East Coast import. A new sandwich spot will be taking over the old New York Bagel spot at 11640 San Vicente Blvd, in the Town & Country shopping center, and while there is no signage up yet, the website confirms that GGiata is moving in. GGiata bills itself as an East Coast-style Italian deli.
One block context. The spaces at 11758 and 11754 San Vicente Blvd in Brentwood have hosted a number of restaurants, most recently Planta, and Kreation and Pizzicotto before that. Neighborly took the same footprint. If that operator can hold, it will be the first tenant to make the address work in a decade.
What the Country Mart is doing this summer
While the corridor rebuilds itself, the Brentwood Country Mart is running its usual quiet, well curated summer program in the courtyard. If you are a resident, you already know the rhythm. If you have been away, here is what is actually on the calendar.
- Mart Littles Story Time. Stories, songs, and morning fun for little ones on Wednesdays at 11am all summer long, beginning May 13 through the end of August. Hosted by Cassidy Preschool in the courtyard as part of the Summer Series.
- Free Friday films. Brentwood Country Mart invites the community for a free family-friendly classic film every Friday at 6pm in the Courtyard, with dinner and treats available from Country Mart merchants.
- Wimbledon in the courtyard. An English summer tradition, Brentwood style. Wimbledon in the courtyard with rosé, strawberries and cream, and a celebration of Varley's arrival at the Brentwood Country Mart, Saturday, July 11 from 12 to 3 PM.
- Diesel Bookstore signings. Jessica Knoll at Diesel Bookstore on Thursday, July 9 at 7PM to discuss and sign Helpless, the bestselling author's gripping new novel that explores the complexities of justice, privilege, and the lasting impact of trauma.
The Brentwood Country Mart is a local shopping center in the Brentwood district of Los Angeles, next to the Santa Monica eastern city limit, first opened on November 18, 1948, and Brentwood residents are very protective of it. The Brentwood Country Mart is a 30,000 sq ft shopping center, located at 225 26th Street just south of San Vicente Boulevard. Seventy eight years in, its programming still holds up against the new arrivals four blocks east because it does something they cannot. It gives you a place to sit down, unhurried, with your dog and a paper cup of coffee, while a Cassidy Preschool teacher reads to somebody else's toddler.
How to actually use the block this summer
Read together, these openings sketch a weeknight that did not exist in Brentwood a year ago. Tuesday, order across four kitchens at Neighborly and eat in the plaza. Wednesday morning, Mart Littles at eleven, then a walk down the coral tree median. Thursday, the Savta handroll lunch at Barrington. Friday, a film in the courtyard. Saturday, brunch at the new La La Land once it opens, then errands at the Country Mart. When Matū finishes its build out next to Katsuya and Montana's opens in 2027, the same half mile will hold a steakhouse, a sushi room, a speakeasy lounge, a food hall, a deli, and a bookstore with reliably interesting authors.
That is the quiet news. Brentwood has been called a lot of things by people who do not live here, most of them accurate but incomplete. What the corridor is proving in 2026 is that the neighborhood is capable of drawing operators of the caliber of h.wood, the Matū team, and Frank Pinello without losing the character that keeps residents protective of the Country Mart courtyard. That is a difficult balance to hold. It is worth paying attention to while it happens.
